Boat trip to the 6 bridges (1 hour duration)

Sail along the banks of Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia in a typical rabelo boat, in which in the past the casks of Port wine from Alto Douro were transported, to the cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia to be stored and later sold. The itineraries are approximately 1 hour. There are several cruise companies, with boarding at the pier of Gaia / Ribeira. The programs usually include a guide to accompany the trip (available in several languages). During the cruise, visit the 6 bridges, which connect Porto to Vila Nova de Gaia.

Have lunch in Ribeira

Have lunch in Ribeira, with a privileged view of the river and a perfect setting with the D. Luis Bridge. This area is very busy, full of terraces of restaurants and bars, accompanied by street artists who delight the visit of those who pass by.

2. What to do in the afternoon?

Visit a Wine cellar

On the other side, in the center of Vila Nova de Gaia, there are several Port wine cellars. You can take guided tours to the cellars, where you get to know more about this internationally renowned product. At the end, you can taste a selection of Port wines from the company you are visiting. It recently opened WOW (World Of Wine), an excellent option for those curious about Portuguese wine, among other national products, such as cork, etc. Within this complex, there are also restaurants and cafeterias, where you can take a break and relax with a good glass of wine.

Ride the cable car

At Gaia pier, there is the cable car that connects the upper deck of the D. Luis Bridge. The trip lasts about 5 minutes, in an unforgettable 600 meters.

End your day at Jardim do Morro

To end your day in Oporto, stay in Jardim do Morro to enjoy the sunset. This place has the best view of the city of Oporto. Take the opportunity to take pictures and relax!
